YWAM International
Launched by Loren initially to give young people an opportunity to be involved in missions (an unusual idea at the time!), YWAM has since grown into a multi-generational ministry and training body with over 1,100 operating locations in 180 nations around the world. Decentralised, but bound together by relationship, shared vision and values, our three primary modes of action are evangelism, discipleship and mercy ministry.
In 1985 Peter and Shirley Brownhill responded to the call of God upon their lives to pioneer a new Youth With A Mission (YWAM) centre in Perth; a city situated right on the Indian Ocean, on the west coast of Australia.
A team of 8 committed people crossed the continent from Goulburn, NSW in a 21 seater Toyota Coaster. This small group of eight came with a vision: YWAM Perth was to be a centre of training and ministry for the city of Perth and the nations beyond. In simple obedience, this small group began taking steps to reclaim the city of Perth for Jesus.
